What is a Baffle Net for Baseball Batting Cages?

Posted by Brian Krilivsky - EXCURSIONS Journey To Health on

A baffle net,  which is typically used in batting cages, is a net that absorbs the impact of the balls and extends the life of the batting cage.  The baffle net is typically placed in areas of the batting cage that takes the most abuse, this is usually behind the batter so it absorbs any missed or missed hit balls.  But baffle nets can be hung anywhere in the batting cage where you may be noticing some damage occurring to the original cage netting.

Baffle nets can also be used as stand-alone nets, impact screens and even batting cage dividers.

What you want to look for in a baffle net is a very high quality netting, preferable HDPE(High Density Polyethylene), that has a high twine size.  The higher the twine size the stronger, more durable the netting is.  Most twine size of #36 ply or higher will suffice for most applications but if you are looking for extremely durable netting take a look at our #54 ply Baffle Net It is made from our highest quality netting that our premium commercial grade batting cage netting is made from.  All our netting is also weather resistant and UV treated.
