Trail Map: Elderslie Preserve Trail Map

Description:  We took the red trail to the junction of the blue trail(approximately .77 miles), took a left on the blue traveled about a half mile until the trail came close to some houses and an aggressive dog hindered our way forward, we turned around and proceeded on the blue travel(approximately 1.66 miles) to it's end point at the junction of Indian Trail Rd and N. Racebrook Rd.  (Of note if you are looking for a longer hike you can walk left on road and it will hook up to the Alice-Newton Memorial Park with numerous other trails!).  There is a nice little parking area at this junction, that can fit a few cars if anyone wanted to start from this location.  We then headed back the way we came on the blue trail until we hit the junction of the orange trail(approximately 1 mile).  We decided to do the orange trail which was marked difficult on the map and the initial incline did meet that expectation but then leveled off through some very interesting terrain including a pine canopy and a small boulder dash.  We followed the orange trail until it met up with the blue trail(approximately .27miles) and then took a left on the blue trail and proceeded about .3 miles to the junction of the red trail.  We then followed the red trail back to the parking lot.

Overall a very enjoyable hike, despite the very cold wind chills!  The numerous glacial erratics were amazing and the network of boardwalks offered easy access through some wetland crossings.  We would definitely come back again!
